The Raw Food Revolution
Ian Billinghurst, an Australian vet, in the 1980’s, decided to go back to basics and look at how to remedy disease by looking at a raw evolutionary diet for dogs. The results spoke volumes and from here championed the BARF diet. BARF stands for Bones and Raw Food but is also known as Biologically Appropriate Raw Foods. This evolutionary diet is based on a carcass of meat, bones and digested stomach content of grass, herbs, nuts, and seeds that a wolf or a wild cat would have eaten in the wild.
